…Space Facts
Quick Facts
After Jupiter, Saturn is the second largest planet in the Solar System. It has a diameter of 72,367 miles and has ninety-five times the mass of Earth.
Saturn usually appears yellow from space because of the ammonia crystals in its upper atmosphere. It also has bands of clouds like Jupiter, though these are fainter.
Saturn is best known for its rings. All the four outer planets actually have planetary rings, but Saturn’s are the most visible because they are made of ice rather than gas.
