Many babies are born with blue eyes – but only temporarily.

This is because melanin, the pigment responsible for the color of our skin, hair and eyes, may have not yet been fully deposited in the eyes. Either that or it needs light in order to expose its true color. Because of this, a baby’s real eye color is not determined until six months of age.
