When bathing in chlorinated water, one can inhale chloroform. In fact, one experiment showed that after a 10-minute shower using chlorinated water, the chloroform concentration in the bathers’ lungs increased to 2.7 pbb (parts per billion). Also, during a warm shower, the skin pores become larger, absorbing more chlorine than one would absorb by drinking eight glasses of the same chlorinated water.
