Iridium may not be widely known or widely used, particularly since it is one of the rarest elements found on the Earth’s crust, but it is the most resistant to corrosion from water, chemicals and even acid. It forms a large part of meteorites, including the one that is believed to have wiped out all the dinosaurs on Earth.
