You didn’t read that wrongly – crocodiles can climb trees! In fact alligators and crocodiles in North America, Africa and Australia have been spotted by researchers climbing trees and using them as a sun bed. This behaviour is most common when there is not enough basking space on the ground.
Big crocs can climb but smaller crocs are the most common climbers and have been seen climbing as high as twelve feet off the ground!
